Our agency offers a few cash assistance programs:
Ohio Works First(OWF) serves as a temporary support system designed to emphasize
employment and family self-sufficiency through programs and services to
unemployed and/or low-income families. While receiving cash benefits,
adult family members search for jobs, attend training for future jobs,
participate in our JOBS program, and/or finish a high school or
vocational degree.
Our Prevention, Retention and Contingency(PRC) program is
designed to assist low-income families by preventing them from
applying for OWF in times of crises, helping them retain employment,
and providing for contingent needs that could result in long-term
need of public assistance if left unattended.
- Disability Financial Assistance(DFA) serves as a
temporary cash assistance program designed to help adults who have little or
no income while they are waiting for Social Security's determination on their disability.
While receiving this cash benefit, individuals MUST apply for Social Security. The
maximum amount a person can receive each month is $115.
