Medicaid
has coverage for people who are Aged, Blind, or have a Disability and meet income and resource limits.
Adults 65 or older may be eligible for Medicaid. Individuals of any age with a disability , including individuals
who are legally blind, can also qualify for Medicaid. People who meet the age or
disability criteria, but have income higher than allowed by the income limit can use
the cost of medical care to "Spenddown" or offset their eligible income in order
to qualify for Medicaid(sort of acts like a co-pay). In some cases older Ohioans with income
too high to be eligible for Medicaid may be eligible to have Medicaid pay for some or all
of their Medicare expenses.
