NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR PROGRAM
Dollar Energy Fund and AEP Ohio have teamed up to create a new program that will assist low-income AEP Ohio customers who have difficulty paying their electric bill.
How Will the Program Help?
The Neighbor to Neighbor program, administered by Dollar Energy Fund, will provide eligible customers with a utility assistance grant applied directly to their AEP Ohio bill. This grant will help low-income customers maintain or restore their basic electric service.
Who is Potentially Eligible?
Eligible households:
- Are customers of AEP Ohio.
- Are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.
- Have made a sincere effort of payment on their AEP Ohio bill. A sincere effort of is a minimum of $100 in the last 90 days. Exceptions for senior citizens will apply.
- Have a minimum balance of $100 on their AEP Ohio bill.
How Do I Apply?
Come in to the Job Store at The Sandusky County Department of Job and Family Services. Tell them you need help with your AEP bill and they will have you see the case manager to submit your application.
What Documents Do I Need To Supply?
- Verification of the past 30 days of income for EVERYONE in the household.
- Social Security number for EVERYONE in the household.
- Proof of your $100 payment to AEP in the past 90 days (payments made by 3rd parties do not count).
- Your AEP bill that verifies the termination or disconnection notice.
- Verification you have applied for E-HEAP, HEAP, or any other source of federal assistance prior to applying for the Neighbor To Neighbor program.
