    Facility Based Long Term Care

Medicaid provides services for persons who are aged or who have disabilities, and covers a broad range of services used by people with a wide variety of needs. These services including nursing facilities, residential facilities for people with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities, and a range of community health care services. Because these kinds of services are rarely covered by private insurance or Medicare, Medicaid is the main source of coverage for many long term care services. Medicaid represents the number one payment source for nursing facilities; it pays all or some part of the bill for about 70% of Ohioans in nursing facilities. Medicaid also is a major source of public funding for services to persons with developmental disabilities, including those with mental retardation.

    Low Income Medicare Beneficiaries
Based on your income, these programs may help pay for some or all of your Medicare expenses. As an example, this may include some of the following: Medicare Part B premium, Medicare co-insurance, deductibles, Medicare Part A premium if necessary, or a small part of the home health care portion of the Medicare Part B premium.
